Jhanda Chowk: the main bazaar
If Kotdwar has a heart, it's Jhanda Chowk. With more than 350 listings, it's the busiest area in our directory. Clothes, jewellery, utensils, mobile shops, medical stores, sweets: it's all packed into a few lanes.
Best for: wedding shopping, gold and silver, sarees and suits, kitchenware, early-morning jalebi.
Tip: come before 11 am. After that the lanes get crowded and parking is hard. Take an auto in and walk.
